In 1986, Swedish rock band Europe released their breakthrough third album The Final Countdown, which catapulted the group to international stardom, with the title single hitting No. 1 on the charts in 25 countries around the world. The multi-platinum album topped charts around the globe, included four Top 40 singles and stayed on the US Billboard charts for over 60 weeks. Thanks to the song's continued popularity in the digital age, in 2022 the band received an award from YouTube as the first Swedish band to achieve one billion views on a single song, and of course the number is still growing; currently it is close to 1.4 billion plays. “The Final Countdown 40th Anniversary” tour will cover 12 countries, including the UK, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, for a total of 19 shows. The show will consist of an extensive selection of the most important songs from the band's entire career, culminating in a performance of The Final Countdown album in its entirety. Since the release of The Final Countdown, the group has continuously toured around the world and released a further eight albums, including: Classic Rock Award, Grammy Award and many other awards. The band belongs to an elite group of artists who still maintain a full classic line-up, and 2026 will bring the premiere of their 12th studio album. The album - still untitled - was recorded at RMV Studios in Stockholm in October 2025 with renowned producer Tom Dalgety (Ghost, The Pixies, Royal Blood, Opeth).
