How to sell a ticket bought elsewhere: a guide to events in Poland

StadionNarodowy.waw.pl editorial team · Rules checked:

Plans changed after buying a concert or match ticket? Before listing it, check whether someone else can use it, the permitted price and delivery method. This guide concerns events in Poland. Owning a ticket or QR code does not establish that it can be resold.

Resale prices and Polish law

Article 133 of Poland’s Code of Petty Offences covers buying artistic, entertainment or sporting tickets to resell at a profit, and selling such tickets at a profit. It also addresses attempts, incitement and assistance. Do not use resale to profit from increasing ticket prices.

A price without profit does not replace checking the event conditions. Keep proof of purchase and records of actual costs. Do not hide profit in invented extras. A general guide cannot determine the legality of every individual transaction.

Tickets bought from another service

AleBilet facilitates resale of users’ tickets, including purchases from an original distributor or another lawful source. Not every ticket is accepted. Check the organiser’s terms, transfer restrictions and available delivery method.

Compare the event name, date, city, venue and ticket category with your purchase confirmation. Check age limits, concession eligibility and VIP packages. Transferring admission does not necessarily transfer every additional benefit included in the original package.

Named tickets and changes of attendee

A name on the document may identify the attendee or the person booking; these are different situations. Identity checks may apply to named-ticket events. Ask the distributor whether a change is allowed, its deadline and fee.

Do not edit a name yourself in a PDF. Use a procedure accepted by the organiser. On AleBilet, the seller must change the details on a named ticket and cover that cost. Do not promise admission if the required change cannot be completed.

PDFs, paper tickets and app transfers

Identify the format. Use the original PDF, allow delivery time for paper tickets and check official transfer for app tickets. A screenshot of a protected Ticketmaster mobile ticket does not replace the ticket on a device; other systems have their own rules.

Do not display a QR code, a complete ticket or personal details in a public listing. Never use or resell a ticket after transferring it. Retain delivery or transfer confirmation and check that the buyer has received the correct ticket.

Creating an AleBilet listing

Create an account or sign in, select the correct event and complete the listing. Users must be at least 18 with full legal capacity. Describe category, section, ticket count and delivery. List non-adjacent seats separately.

A listing does not guarantee a buyer. Withdrawal ends at the stage specified in the terms. After sale, follow delivery instructions and deadlines; do not assume you can cancel freely. Ask support about a missing event instead of selecting a similar concert.

Fees and payment after the event

Under rules checked on 1 October 2026, listing and selling carry no seller commission. Buyers pay a 15% service fee on the listed price; event-page prices include it. Delivery and attendee changes may cost extra.

The terms provide for payment within five business days after the event if the ticket was correctly delivered and allowed admission. Payment is not immediate. Disputes, event changes or incomplete identity, bank or KYC verification may delay it. No seller commission does not mean no other costs.

Changed plans, cancellation and postponement

Changing your own plans does not automatically give you a 14-day return right. UOKiK explains the exception for dated event services. Check voluntary refunds, insurance and the original purchase conditions separately.

For full cancellation, AleBilet provides for cancelling the resale and refunding the price and service fee to the buyer. Completed paper delivery is not refunded. Date or venue changes, and postponement without a new date, have specific cancellation rules. Follow current terms and instructions; retain original purchase documents.

What if time is running out?

Check the deadlines for changing attendee details, transfer and delivery. Finding a buyer before the event is not guaranteed.
